This is an interesting article on the Fan Conduct class program. Now that the 2012 NFL season is over, we will be evaluating the effectiveness of the class as well as ways to improve it for next season. Here is an exerpt from the article:
How did the fan conduct class come about?
We originally piloted a program with MetLife Stadium, which at the time was the Meadowlands Stadium. This was in 2010, and at that time the director of security of that stadium contacted us and asked if we could create a customized online alcohol awareness program to address fans who were ejected from their stadium for violating the stadium’s code of conduct policy. [Our focus was on] alcohol violations specifically, because it was a big problem at that stadium.

This was one of the first interviews I've had where the fan experience for me was personal. Growing up and attending 49er games in the late 70's and 80's with my Dad was one of the highlights of my childhood. As an adult and a mental health professional, it is very rewarding to be working with the NFL to help address issues related to decreasing disruptive fan behavior and improving the game day experience for all fans.
